Cleaning & Care

The Porter is as practical as it is pretty: It repels moisture, resists fading from sun exposure, and cleans up easily.
Regularly shake out (or brush off) dust, dirt, and debris; hose down for a deeper clean.
Use soap and water as needed, then rinse and hang dry.
For stubborn spots, mix 1 cup of hot water with ½ teaspoon of mild detergent, dab solution on stain with a clean cloth, rinse, and air dry.

FAQ

Specifically designed to stay outdoors, The Porter isn’t fussy. Regularly shake out or brush off dust, dirt, and debris (a sign that those spaces between the knots are doing their job), and hose down as needed for a deeper clean. Still see mud or gunk? We recommend using mild soap and lukewarm water, then rinsing your mat and hanging it to dry. Got a stubborn spot? Mix 1 cup of hot water with ½ teaspoon of mild detergent, dab the solution on the stain with a clean cloth, then rinse and air dry.

The Porter is 3/4” high—thin enough for most doors to easily clear its height.

You sure can. It was designed to weather ALL the elements, year-round. Rain or shine, sleet or snow, The Porter will stand its ground.

Its yarns are 100% Italian and it’s knotted by hand in India.

Fully–The Porter looks great on both sides, and from all angles.

It doesn’t have a slip-resistant backing like our indoor mats, but due to its substantial weight, it tends to stay put. If your flooring is especially slick or smooth, though, you may want to consider using an outdoor rug pad underneath.

Better than expected

I needed to replace the rug at my back door and wanted one that blended in with my mahogany deck but still helped clean off shoes. I finally found all of this in this rug! Works great and looks great. Have received some compliments on it. Now waiting for the larger version for the double door to the back yard which is back ordered.

Estetic and good quality

Very nice looking, practical and estetic

Absolutely beautiful!

I love the look of this rug but more importantly, it’s such great quality!

Perfect

So glad I purchased this carpet; a stunning appearance for the entryway.

The corners don’t hold a square shape so it looks cheap. it is very expensive

It is comfortable to walk on and seems very sturdy. But the corners won’t hold a square shape making it look cheap. It won’t lay parallel with the door sill so it looks sloppy. And it was anything but cheap!

Hi Eloise, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! Our Porter Mat is made of premium, 100% all-weather Italian yarns and knotted by hand for rich depth and a one-of-a-kind look. Because this item is hand-knotted, slight variations in the edges and overall shape are completely natural and part of what makes each piece unique. In most cases, the mat can be gently adjusted back into shape with light stretching by hand. We truly appreciate your support and are always happy to help if you have any questions.
